Hi, I’m Sophie. I am the founder of Sophie Gordon Therapeutic Practice.
I started my journey to become a therapist over 14 years ago back in 2012. After completing my psychology degree I started working in a Children’s Home, it was here I knew I wanted to support adults and young people on a deeper level.
So you know you are in safe hands I hold the following professional qualifications:
Although I can offer therapy for a range of concerns I have a personal interest in supporting adults affected by emotional and invisible abuse, narcissistic recovery and trauma as well as people experiencing life changes such as motherhood.
In addition, I also specialise in working with young people (aged 11+). I mainly support those struggling with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Such as; trauma, self esteem, ADHD and school refusal.
Alongside my private practice, I currently work 3 days a week as a Pastoral and Therapeutic Lead within a Secondary School Alternative Provision.
Outside of therapy, I’m a wife and mum of two who believes in taking each day as it comes and finding calm within the chaos of 2 under 3. A fun fact about me is that I once canoed down the Zambezi River alongside elephants and hippos — an experience I’ll never forget!
In addition to my professional qualifications, I am also a member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), DBS Checked, insured and committed to Continued Professional Development (CPD). To ensure I offer safe, ethical and informed support, I have completed the following additional training:
If you wish to see any of my certificates for my qualifications or CPD training, please don’t hesitate to ask.
I provide a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard, understood and safe to explore whatever may be going on for you. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious or simply not like yourself, you do not have to face it alone.
